Most people think self-defense starts when a threat is right in front of them.

In reality, it starts minutes earlier — with awareness, movement, and decision-making.

This live, interactive session teaches you how to recognize danger early, avoid becoming a target, and create a clear plan for protecting yourself and your home. You’ll learn how criminals choose victims, how quickly attacks unfold, and how small changes in awareness and behavior can give you the time you need to avoid or escape trouble.

We’ll also cover how to build a simple, effective home-defense strategy — including entry points intruders use most often, how to harden doors and windows, how alarms and lighting affect risk, and how to create a family response plan that actually works under stress.

This lesson isn’t about paranoia. It’s about seeing sooner, moving sooner, and deciding sooner — so you don’t have to rely on force unless there’s truly no other option.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Use situational awareness to spot threats before they’re close
  • Understand time, distance, and danger zones
  • Avoid behaviors that make you look like an easy target
  • Apply the color-code system of awareness in daily life
  • Identify escape routes, cover, and safer movement paths
  • Strengthen your home’s security against break-ins
  • Create a simple, effective home-defense plan
  • Use mental rehearsal to prepare for real-world encounters

If you carry a firearm — or plan to — this class gives you the most important skill of all: the ability to avoid a fight before it starts.
