The Phase 1: Base Capacity & Durability — Building the Engine program is the first phase in the Apex performance progression — designed for individuals who want to develop durability, stamina, and work capacity before moving on to heavier, faster, or more demanding training.
This is not high-intensity conditioning.
This is not max strength training.
This is foundational physical preparation built to support long-term performance and resilience.
What This Program Focuses On
Foundations of Firearms Fitness emphasizes base-level physical qualities, including:
- muscular endurance and fatigue resistance
- aerobic capacity and recovery ability
- trunk stability and postural control
- movement quality and joint durability
Every session is designed to improve:
- overall work capacity
- training tolerance and consistency
- movement efficiency
- long-term readiness for more advanced phases
This is training that prepares your body to handle stress and volume, not chase exhaustion.
Program Structure
Length: 13 weeks
(6 weeks of training → deload → 6 weeks of training)
Frequency:
3 days per week of structured weight training
3 days per week of dedicated aerobic base work
Training Style:
Foundational strength and capacity-focused sessions
Environment:
Commercial gym or well-equipped home gym
